SOFTWAVER – RETROSPECTIVE

On July 28th, 2023 Sine Music will be releasing the new ambient EP “Retrospective“ by Softwaver. The EP contains three tracks and will be available in all well-known download stores and streaming services.

Softwaver’s previously released single “The Underworld“ has been his first release after ten years. And with this song the EP begins as a new dreamlike journey. Off into new spheres.

The core of his music has remained: melancholic sound sketches meet spacy pad sounds produced with a lot of love down to the smallest detail. The difference from previous works by Alex Houser (the boy behind Softwaver) is that his new tracks are calmer.

The second song on the EP is called “View into the Distance“. It starts with guitar notes, then accompanied by analogue synthesizers. Softwaver loves a touch of ambient and experimental sounds, which he mainly recorded with hardware synthesizers in his Berlin studio.

“Silent Room“ is the third song on “Retrospective“. The melodies, the arrangement sound like the musical embodiment of retrospective.

This EP is inspired by life events of Softwaver’s last few years, saying goodbye to loved ones and the birth of his children – Alex has processed all of this in his new pieces and let the soul melt with sounds.
