Olaf Gutbrod is the musical explorer and producer behind Ohm-G. Originally from southern Germany, his musical and spiritual passions reach far beyond borders. His explorations of texture, rhythm, and emotion have taken him around the globe, ultimately leading him to his spiritual home: the Balearic island of Ibiza, where he now lives and works.

Gutbrod began his musical journey at the age of nine with the guitar — an instrument that would shape the path of a lifetime. Later, he composed music for art performances, theater, and film, and curated the acclaimed Spiritual Voices sample CD project. This ambitious work brought him to remote regions of Africa and India, where he recorded authentic tribal vocals, far from cities and towns. These recordings became widely successful and were later featured in the Kontakt sampler by Native Instruments.

At the age of 19, inspired by the song El Condor Pasa, he set out for South America to immerse himself in different cultures and musical traditions, learning through direct experience.

In 2002, Gutbrod, under his Ohm-G alias, settled in Ibiza and quickly became a prominent figure in the chill-out scene. His music was featured on iconic compilations like Café del Mar and Hotel Costes. He also held a DJ residency at Atzarò Ibiza for several years and curated their compilation CDs.

After years in the spotlight, Ohm-G turned inward, dedicating himself to deeper sonic research and the exploration of frequency. This period gave birth to a series of experimental sound collages he calls Quantum Collage — a name that reflects his multidimensional approach to sound. This unique direction led to a collaboration with Acid Pauli, following a performance at the legendary Acid Sundays event in Ibiza. In 2017, Olaf released his Lucid Dreaming EP under the Quantum Collage alias on the Ouïe label, curated by Acid Pauli and Nico Stojan.

Over the past decade, he has quietly produced a large body of authentic music across various styles — from ambient to dance. Many of these pieces have been revisited and refined over time, guided by a deep sensitivity to vibration and feeling. Now, he begins to share this body of work with the world.

“Life never starts tomorrow — life is the process.
Making music is a gift.
Having time to develop the sounds I hear within, away from the public eye, is a privilege.
Now is the right time to share my feelings and my music with you.”
